It has been a pretty long time between posts and I apologize for the delay. I just didn't want to continue posting bad news.
Today, we finally got some good news regarding the project. The landlord has stopped flip flopping on our exhaust plans and we received the go ahead to proceed with our recommendation. This means that the build can proceed without too much more delay.
The millwork team was in this morning and started to erect the vestibule. It should be completed by tomorrow. They also were preparing the large walnut sign for hanging on our feature wall. It really looks great (you'll have to wait until later in the week to see it. I will post pics on our social media sites).
I had all the staff in today as i had hoped to start full training. Unfortunately, without a ready space, that has been put on hold. We did manage to do inventory of the smallwares and dinnerware. Each piece was counted and repacked. Luckily, only one plate and on glass were damaged.
Tomorrow, furniture assembly will begin as the team will assemble tables and prepare the chairs for use in the dining room. Our Coffee Bar is going to be worked on tomorrow with the installation of our state of the art machine. I am hoping that we will be able to start serving coffee and baked goods sometime next week.
So, I am hoping to only post good news and updates from this point forward and am really trying to get my contractors to give me a definitive completion date, so I can let all of our followers details of our opening day! With the go ahead on the HVAC and exhaust plan, I should be able to squeeze that out of them this week.
I am really trying to be positive, but it is hard. Every time we move forward a step, we get pushed back 2-3 more. This has been the most trying time in my life (and that says a lot!!). I have crossed every part of my body that i look like a pretzel!
Here are some sneak peeks of the dinnerware and the vestibule. I will be posting more throughout the week, so keep checking our Facebook and Instagram pages.
Thank you to all of you for being so supportive and patient. I will make sure it will be worth the wait!!
