Well another week and another update on the happenings at The Cave.
The guys have been working through the hot days and have started to begin on the finishes. The wall treatment has started. Now, this has not been an easy process. We have come up with a very creative option for the walls. I don't want to give it away, but once we're ready to reveal the finished product, I'll give you the details.
Te wood finishes have also started on the bar fronts. Unfortunately, the wrong coloured wood has been used! I just found out yesterday and to say I wasn't happy, would be an understatement. I now have to come up with a new plan or will have to wait an additional 2-3 weeks for more wood to be delivered, which will delay the opening further. I will be working with the contractors to come up with a viable solution and I hope it will all come together.
Just seems like a case of "One step forward and two steps back", on this build!! I know We'll get it done, but it just frustrating to me and everyone involved.
On May 31, the entire staff of The Cave will be coming down to see the space and have an opportunity to meet one another. It will be important to have everyone together before opening to ensure we work as a team (family). The Cave wants to provide the best food and service in the industry and we will strive to be better every day.
I'm hoping to see the millwork guys in later this week and possibly have the painters in to do the ceiling. Hopefully, my next blog will be able to show more work being completed. I feel that we are in the stretch run and really close to getting open.
The Kitchen Team met last week and we have our dish and wine pairing for the upcoming Indulgence event on June 11. It will be a very fun and rewarding experience and we hope to see some of you there.

Maybe, I will reveal the date for opening (fingers and toes crossed). In any case, keep checking the website, Facebook and Instagram for updates.
