Summer has come and gone and we are still struggling with COVID restrictions and how we can re-open safely and still be fiscally responsible.

We take the safety of our customers and staff very seriously and have made the decision to stay closed until 2021.

We will, however, open for a few dates in December for a few pop up dinners and brunches starting December 11, 2020.  Stay tuned for updates and keep checking our social media sites for all the updates.

We want to thank you all for your support and we hope you and your families are safe and well during this difficult time.

The Cave

Everything's Fresh Here at The Cave.

The Cave

I have been a lover of food all of my life.  I used to love watching my Grandmother make my favourite Ukrainian dishes and her baking was sublime.  I always made sure I watched how she created those amazing delights.

Then one day, I decided I wanted to be a chef.  I went to Culinary school and started my journey, but not without it's bumps in the road.

I also loved sports and coaching. That became a huge part of my life, so I put the dream of being a chef on hold. I never gave up my passion for cooking though, always trying new recipes and cooking family meals with my mother.  It was just hibernating!!

Why Paleo?

For those not familiar with Paleo eating, here is a brief explanation:

Basically, "If the cavemen didn't eat it, neither should you".

Paleo eating runs on the same foods our hunter-gather ancestors supposedly ate: fruits, vegetables, meats, seafood, and nuts. "By following these nutritional guidelines, we put our diet more in line with the evolutionary pressures that shaped our current genetics, which in turn positively influences health and well being," says Loren Cordain, PhD, professor of health and exercise science at Colorado State University and author of The Paleo Diet. He says the diet lessens the body's glycemic load, has a healthy ratio of saturated-to-unsaturated fatty acids, increases vitamin and nutrient consumption, and contains an optimal balance of protein, fat, and carbohydrates.

The biggest question I always get is "Does it still taste good?"  My answer is "Of course it does!!" You can still enjoy most of things you love to eat, just in a healthier way. In most cases, you will never be able to tell that there is no processed food, refined sugars, gluten and/or dairy in what you are eating.

That is the beauty of The Cave!
